Transportation/Transfer
+ Motorcycle / Car: The route Hanoi to Bac Ninh to
Halong: 155 km. This is the shortest route from Hanoi to
Halong by car (about 3 hour drive). The journey is as
follow:
to Hanoi along route 5 to T Junction Sai Dong: 10 km.
to Sai Dong along Highway 1 to Bac Ninh: 23 km.
to From Bac Ninh along Highway 18 to Pha Lai Chi Linh to Dong
Trieu toUong Bi to Halong: 122 km.
The route Hanoi to Bac Ninh to Halong: 160 km.
to Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) along the Noi Bai to Bac Ninh
(32km) to Bac Ninh.
to Connect to Highway 18a through Pha Lai, Dong Trieu, Uong
Bi to Halong.
+ Bus:
Visitors can book seats on the major bus companies, which
are concentrated in Luong Yen bus station or My Dinh bus
station, the first bus departs at 6:00 am and the last bus
at 17:00 pm (the journey takes between 3- 4 hours). Buses
depart from Hanoi to the bus station in Halong Bai Chay,
Quang Ninh province.
Ticket prices range from VND 100.000/ guest/seat to VND
200.000 / guest/ bedon sleeping bus.
Trains from Hanoi to Halong:
Guests can take the
tourist train HALONG EXPRESS, which departs from the Gia Lam
station. It departs at 7:05 AM in the morning, and take
about 5 hours to Halong. Ticket price $ 5 / way/ guests (for
Vietnamese) and USD 15/way/guests (for foreigners).

Halong bay boat tour:
Guests can buy separated
tickets and can charter a boat. With join-in cruise, it
costs between VND 100.000 to 150.000/ person. If traveling
with a group or family, you should hire a private boat, VND
1.500.000 to 1.700.000 / 4 hour or 6 hour trip (the high
season from May to August the price may be higher).
There are 2 types of ticket: 4 hours and 6 hours. 6 hour
tour ticket is a bit more expensive but more sites to see
and enjoy.
